Here's exactly what setup looks like — step by step. No technical knowledge needed.
Step 01
Connect your WhatsApp number
WanguCRM uses Meta's official Embedded Signup — a Facebook OAuth popup that auto-discovers your WhatsApp Business Account and phone number. No credential copying required.
Click Connect
On the settings page, click the 'Connect via WhatsApp' button. That's all it takes to start.
Log in with Facebook
Meta's official popup opens. Log in, pick your WhatsApp Business Account, and confirm your phone number.
You're connected
We instantly discover your WABA ID and Phone Number ID. Your number is live in WanguCRM — under 60 seconds total.
Exact steps in the app
- 1Go to Settings → WhatsApp Numbers → Add Number
- 2Click 'Connect via WhatsApp'
- 3A Meta popup opens — log in with Facebook

Step 02
Invite your team
Add your staff by email from Settings → Team. They'll receive an invite link, create a password, and immediately share the same inbox with you.

Step 03
Set up message templates
Templates are required by Meta for broadcast messages. You only need them if you plan to send bulk messages — for individual replies in open conversations, you can type freely.
How to create a template
- 1Go to Templates → New Template
- 2Give it a name (e.g. 'stock_arrival')
- 3Write your message — use {{1}}, {{2}} for variables
- 4Select a category (Marketing, Utility, etc.)
- 5Submit for Meta review — usually approved in minutes
Why do I need Meta-approved templates?+
WhatsApp requires all outbound broadcast messages to use pre-approved templates. This protects users from spam. You can still reply freely in open conversations.
How long does template approval take?+
Meta usually reviews templates within a few minutes to a few hours. You'll see the status update in WanguCRM automatically.
What makes a good template?+
Keep it clear and relevant. Use variables like {{customer_name}} to personalise. Avoid salesy language — Meta flags promotional-sounding templates.
Step 04
Send your first broadcast
Broadcasts let you send a WhatsApp message to a whole tag of contacts at once. Available on Growth and Business plans.
- 1Tag your contacts (e.g. 'Wholesale', 'Regular clients', 'Overdue')
- 2Go to Broadcasts → New Broadcast
- 3Select your target tag and an approved template
- 4Preview variable values — e.g. customer name
- 5Send now or schedule for later
- 6Watch live delivery status for each recipient
Broadcasts respect WhatsApp's rate limits automatically. You won't get flagged for spam.
Step 05
Set follow-up reminders
Never let a lead or customer go cold. Set a follow-up date on any contact and every morning at 8am CAT each agent gets a WhatsApp digest of who to call today — sent straight to their own phone.
Set a date
Open a contact → Follow-up → pick a date. That's it.
Get the digest
At 8am each day, a WhatsApp message arrives listing your follow-ups.
Auto-clears
When you reply to the customer, the follow-up clears automatically.
Step 06
Pay with EcoCash or card
Your 30-day trial gives you full access to all features — no card required. When you're ready to continue, subscribe from the Billing page.

- 3. Send payment to the EcoCash merchant number

How do I pay with EcoCash?+
When your trial ends, go to Billing and select EcoCash. You'll get a ZESA-style reference code to send via EcoCash. We confirm payment manually within 1 business day.
What happens when my 30-day trial ends?+
Your account pauses — nothing is deleted. You can pay at any time to resume exactly where you left off.
